Classic Security was founded in 1947 by Frederick Townsley — the father of our chairman and grandfather of our MD.
Security is, quite literally, in our DNA. As a family-run commercial security provider, we care about the safety of your premises and people, and will go out of our way to protect them. For us, it’s personal.
Our approach is to combine cutting-edge security technology with old-fashioned courtesy to you, our customer. We want to be more than just your service provider. It’s about building a long-term, trusted relationship.
Meet the Team
Paul is the son of the company’s founder Frederick Townsley. He joined Classic straight from school and worked alongside his father to grow the business. Paul’s practical hands-on approach, coupled with a passion for exceptional customer service, has generated a company culture which is unique within the security sector. Paul has now taken a step back from the day-to-day running of the business, but continues to serve on the board.
Charlotte is the granddaughter of the company’s founder. When she joined Classic, her father Paul made sure Charlotte worked in every department to embed industry knowledge from the ground up. She initially combined this with a career in horse racing, until an injury led by natural progression to a full-time role. Charlotte is our MD, and she approaches the role with the same unique hands-on ethos of her father and grandfather.
Jo joined Classic in 2000 as our Finance Director. She is a fully-qualified CIMA accountant, holding one of the most prestigious, globally recognised professional qualifications in the accountancy sector. Jo uses her technical skills, critical thinking and creative analysis to manage our finance and accounts department, overseeing our budget and providing financial forecasting for the company. Since joining Classic, Jo has helped us grow the business to where it is now.
Adam started as a security guard with G4S in 2006, working his way up to Contract and Operations Manager before joining JPMorgan in 2017 as their Alarm Monitoring Centre Manager. He joined Classic in 2020 as Compliance Officer and became General Manager in 2023. Adam’s knowledge of security is outstanding. He oversees compliance, provides first line support to the Ops team and since joining, has managed the continual improvement of our services. Recognising his exceptional contributions and leadership, Adam was promoted to Associate Director in November 2024. Adam continues to play a crucial role in ensuring that Classic Services Group remains at the forefront of the industry, delivering top-tier service to all clients.
After 24 successful years in the army, Bob joined Classic Services Group in 2008. With his deep knowledge and understanding of the security industry, Bob quickly became an integral part of Classic, as popular with customers as he is with fellow team members. He is now our Senior Operations Manager. Bob is responsible for strategic planning, customer relationships and the efficient processes which keep the business running smoothly day to day.
Kirsty joined CSG in 2014 as a part-time office administrator, following a successful career in hairdressing. Since then, she has held a variety of roles – from bookkeeping to sales – developing a deep understanding of the business. Now as Commercial Manager, she works closely with Managing Director Charlotte and the senior management team to maintain strong relationships with customers and partners, manage contracts, and support all areas of the business. Kirsty’s hands-on approach reflects CSG’s founding principles: integrity, accountability, and a commitment to exceptional customer service.
