Entry systems for every business

The latest entry systems combine strong security with ease of use. They can integrate with other business systems and, through remote management, you can grant or revoke access with a few clicks.

Choosing an entry system can be challenging. Obviously, access control should be completely secure. But does it need to be scalable? Should data be stored locally or in the cloud? Are your access requirements simple? Or multi-layered and complex?

Here’s a brief overview of access control systems which could keep your entry points secure:

  • Biometric eliminates the risk of lost, stolen or cloned fobs and cards
  • Cloud-based is easily scalable. It provides simple centralised management, real-time information and instant alerts
  • PC-based is for organisations where data sovereignty is crucial
  • Standalone access control is flexible, and it operates autonomously without a network connection

We’re here to provide all the advice you need. Call the CSG team on 0844 561 0578 to book a free assessment and chat through some options, or send a message.

Integrated access control

These days, many businesses are choosing integrated access control. It’s easier to manage because multiple security measures are consolidated into a single, cohesive unit.

Each system is interconnected — access control, CCTV, intruder alarms, fire alarms, video monitoring data, visitor management systems and so on.

There are several good reasons why integrated access control is a good idea:

  • You can control everything from one centralised hub
  • It’s simple, convenient and more efficient
  • The security systems communicate with each other, enabling real-time monitoring and instant alerts
  • With AI-driven predictive analysis, you can anticipate security threats before they happen
  • The system can grow and adapt without any major overhauls

Security technology is developing fast. It’s growing smarter by the day — and we’re always happy to chat about it, so give us a call. You can reach our friendly team on 0844 561 0578 or via the button below.

FAQs

You may have some questions about our access control systems. We’ve answered some of the most common questions here, although please feel free to call us on 0844 561 0578.

Which types of access control systems do you offer?

There’s a wide choice — although bear in mind that not every system will be right for your commercial premises. We make recommendations based on the property, its security risks and your access demands.

To give you an idea, we have:

  • Cloud-based systems. These can include smartphone access and biometric systems as well as key fobs, keypads, cards, video door entry systems and more.
  • PC-based systems. It covers all of the above, but the data and access rules are stored locally on your server or PC, rather than in the cloud
  • Standalone access control also includes all of the above. You have individual control over every access point, and there’s no need for a server or network connection.

We can customise these systems to meet your specific needs. For a no-obligation chat about what might suit your property, call our team on 0844 561 0578.

What are the 4 models of access control?

The 4 models of access control are as follows:

  • Discretionary access control (DAC): You decide who has access, and under what conditions. It’s often used in small businesses and offices.
  • Mandatory access control (MAC): Access is controlled by a central authority. It’s often used in places where confidentiality is crucial — data centres, research labs, government buildings and so on.
  • Role-based access control (RBAC): Access is granted according to someone’s job role or function. It’s popular in corporate spaces where access is tied to job responsibilities.
  • Attribute-based access control (ABAC): A flexible model where access is based on a combination of factors. It’s suitable for spaces with complex access requirements, such as large organisations.

Can access control be integrated with other security systems?

Access control can be integrated with virtually any type of existing security system. It could be CCTV, intruder alarms, fire alarms, intercoms, video management systems, license plate recognition, facial recognition systems and a lot more.

Can I grant and revoke access rights remotely from my smartphone or tablet?

Yes. Depending on which system and access control model you choose, you can remotely control access rights. You can receive instant alerts if there’s a security breach, and see who accessed a specific area and when.

Do you provide maintenance for access control systems?

Yes, we have a maintenance package available. On a regular basis, our engineers will carry out inspections, testing, updates and repairs to make sure the system keeps functioning at optimum levels for the long term.
